Want links in my comments section?
A Note on links from this blog
Hello webmasters, I would like to tell you if you are commenting on posts strictly to get back links from this blog they will be deleted unless you added something useful and insightful in your comments.
“Great Blog, thanks for the share” is not in anyway useful or insightful and suggests you probably did not even read the article. These will be immediately deleted.
Comments that add to the topic and discussion, are thought out and useful will be left with the back link intact. I would even go one step further in suggesting that if you have a decent website and not one of the content generated ones I have been seeing lately then use anchor text instead of your name.
For instance if you have a site about widgets and you have read and want to comment on the article then use something like “Best Price Widgets” or whatever your keywords are instead of your name. I do not mind this and will approve it, providing you are not just after a free link. If you want me to give you something, I expect something in return. A useful, thoughtful, comment, even if it is a comment stating that you do not agree with me, providing you explain why. That is fine as well.
If you use this tactic as a general rule you will find you will get many more back links and they will not just all be deleted. I would hazard a guess that adding stupid things like “Thanks for the info” to get a back link you are probably getting less then 5% of the sites you comment on to link to you. If you add something useful then that will jump dramatically to 70 or even 90%. So if you think that reading the article and writing a paragraph or two is a waste of your time. Add it up. I would rather spend 10 minutes on 6 different sites and get 7 good solid back links then spend that same 60 minutes on 30 sites and only get 1 or 2.
Also please think of the webmaster of the site you are spamming to get links, you are wasting their time having to sort through crap that is only useful to you. Give the webmaster something, show that you have read the bloggers work and you will find them far more willing to help you out and approving your link to their site.
I would also like to tell you, I have had, and still have, many high ranking sites with 6+ PR’s. A link from my site now with be very valuable to your site in 6 months or a year. Read the article, write something useful, and I will approve it.
In conclusion, think about it, how much of that kind of useless crap do you approve on your site? Why should others approve your crap on their site?
